Mom
Staying close to mom is the best way to survive for young animals. This black bear cub (and his sibling half hidden next to mom) was never far from the sow. While she grazed, the cubs played around within a few feet, or when danger showed up, the cubs climbed the nearest tree.
I was fortunate to find these bears on a hike in Yellowstone National Park, far away from the hordes of cars and tourists that overrun Yellowstone during the summer months.
