New Mexico Sunset

March 21, 2022  •  2 Comments

Sometimes everything seems to come together.

The sun breaking through the clouds on the western horizon to light up the clouds, the opportunity to be on the water to catch the reflection, the absence of wind to make the water a perfect mirror.

I've been spending a lot of time these past winters in central New Mexico in the Rio Grande valley at the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge.

If you're ever there come sunset time and there are some clouds in the sky, make your way to the large pond in the northern section and position yourself on the 'flight deck', a large deck that juts out over the water.  Things may just come together if you're lucky ...

Sandhill Cranes under a dramatic cloud at sunset.
