Going hiking to look for moose is one of my favorite things to do in the fall.
This bull was hanging out in dense vegetation surrounded by fall colors.
I was lucky to spend a few hours with him, all by myself.
When he finally got up from his long rest, he crashed through the vegetation to visit a nearby cow moose. She wasn't ready to mate so he promptly left her to go visit a different nearby cow.
You'd think that moose are so large that you can see them from a mile away ... but nothing is further from the truth. These big animals are great at blending in. All the time I spent with the bull, I had no clue there were two separate cow moose hanging out nearby!
