When it comes to finding good areas to photograph bighorn sheep, a few places come to mind.
There's winter at the National Elk Refuge in Jackson, WY when the sheep congregate on Millers Butte.
There's the mining area around Morenci, AZ where sheep live year-round. By the way, these are Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep, not desert bighorn sheep that you find in Arizona's lower elevations.
And then there's Jasper National Park in Canada. Jasper provides great opportunities for photographing bighorn sheep, especially along the road to the Miette Hot Springs and the road to Medicine and Maligne lakes.
Wherever you decide to go, it helps - as it does in all wildlife photography - that the subjects are 'used' to seeing people and occasionally willingly pose for the picture!
