Frozen World
I made this image titled "Frozen World" back in the winter of 2009.
Visiting Yellowstone national park in winter is an awe-inspiring experience. The wolves have free reign as the top predator while the grizzly bears hibernate. The wolves take down the old or sick animals. As the winter progresses, the snow depth increases and the grazers of Yellowstone have a hard time finding enough food. Bison dig their way down to the frozen grasses by swaying their head back and forth in the snow banks. A lot of work for little reward.
