Reunited!

This here is the grizzly sow and her coy ("Cub Of the Year") that have been putting on quite a show in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, a few miles outside of Grand Teton National Park borders.  They have been grazing on and off near a local road since late May.

In June however, the grizzly mom (named "Felicia" by the locals) abandoned her cub (named "Pepper" by the locals).  Over the past few weeks, the National Forest service has been tracking the whereabouts of mom - who is wearing a radio collar - and noticed that; even though she was always within a few miles of her cub; she had seemingly left it ...

The cub has been spotted by herself grazing near the road on occasion and seemed to be doing well.  However, it's a tough world to survive in when you're a grizzly bear cub that is only a few months old!  It was heartbreaking to observe the mom and cub separated ...

Fast forward to today and the great news that the mom and cub have reunited!  Fingers crossed!

Nothing but smiling, happy faces!
