When you're out photographing grizzlies, you just never know what's going to happen.

Many hours and days on end, you don't find a grizzly.

When one finally appears, it may go about his business of eating ... or ... once in a while however, the playful character of the grizzly comes out. 

Rolling in the water, playing with sticks and fish, ... Just like these ones did.

Here's some of my favorite grizzly behavior I photographed these past years.

This one didn't seem too hungry.  He was more interested in playing with the salmon.

Sit back and relax.  Place the salmon upright next to you.

Ignore human traffic rules.  Bite and move the cone.

Sticks provide endless entertainment.

Launch that salmon into the air.

Catch a salmon as it flies by.

Eat a mouthful of ...?

Take a break from rolling in the snow ...

... get up and do a little dance.

And finally: give everyone a wave!
