When you visit the "Valley of the Sun" around Phoenix, Arizona, it's hard to imagine large animals like wild horses carving out a living here.
Having lived in Paradise Valley near Phoenix myself for a few years, it's even hard to imagine any decently sized human population surviving there ...
As the Phoenix metro keeps booming and is now almost up to 5 million people, it's also hard to imagine water not becoming an issue in the future, as evidenced by the latest news headlines from Arizona.
The save and grace for these beautiful wild horses is the Salt river.
It's always amazing to visit the area as you get horses surrounded by Saguaro cacti in one image, and bathing in the river the next!
