Winter in Grand Teton and Yellowstone is an amazing time to photograph moose. They rely on eating bitterbrush, which grows among sage brush, so they are likely to be out in the open flats and easily visible.

I found this young bull on a backcountry hike as he was bedded down. Hours later, he hadn't moved an inch.
It took a bigger bull to walk into the area for him to get up. He took a sip from the creek and walked over to greet the other bull. "Greet" may be too nice of a description: the two bulls sparred violently for a few seconds and this guy lost...
