Monarch butterflies are some pretty amazing animals.
They migrate as far north as Canada in summer and as far south as Mexico during winter. Not one and the same butterfly: they complete this migration over several generations!

I came across this golden aspen tree in southwest Colorado a few months ago.
I was out looking for wildlife (didn't find anything) but I was excited to find this scene: a lone aspen tree in fall colors highlighted by the sun amid the dark forest.
The tree was very bright but only took up about 1/3rd of the picture against the dark (almost black)...
