How cute is this newborn grizzly cub?
May and June are the perfect months to find & observe grizzlies in the Grand Teton / Yellowstone area. As the grizzlies come out of hibernation and the snow begins to melt, they are hungry and are regularly found near roads eating the vegetation (and newborn elk calves if they have a chance).

A coyote sneaks up to a prairie dog at the Valles Caldera National Preserve in northern New Mexico.
There were several coyotes moving through the tall grasses.
None was successful in catching one as the prairie dogs sounded the alarm almost non-stop.
